Parmenter Ministry Update_Travels
Hello all! I have a lot of things to update you all about! We have been doing quite a bit of traveling this summer. In august we drove to Colorado to do our candidate training/orientation. That went very well. We spent several days talking with Paul Williamson, director of RSBCE, about their organization and about church planting. It was great to see his heart for ministry and to benefit from his wisdom. After that, we became officially missionary appointees with RSBCE!
Our next step was a trip to Arizona this month. We were able to attend the IFCA Arizona regional conference and be introduced as new missionaries. Then we drove down to Kingman to get to know the church and the pastor. Kingman Bible church is a small church plant located close to a pretty needy part of town. Pastor Jerry Adams and his wife Bobbie planted the church several years back, and it has grown from a home bible study, to having services in a store front, to having their own building.
We were able to meet Jerry and Bobbie, as well as some other key people in the church. It’s encouraging to know that there are people we can work with who are committed and excited to reach people in Kingman. It’s also exciting to see the need there, and where we can help.
Now that we’re back home, we are getting set up for deputation. Our current monthly support estimate is $4,300. We will need to raise around 50% of our support before we can move to Kingman (I will most likely be working part-time for a while to supplement), as well. We will also need to raise a transition fund to cover the cost of moving and a couple of months worth of support.
The current target date for getting to Kingman is the beginning of January 2019. We all understand that it may take longer, but we’re going to try for it. That means we are going to be doing the super fast support raising program. Please pray -For us to trust God for our provision
-For God to raise up both financial and prayer supporters for our ministry
-For God to prepare the hearts of the people we will be ministering to
We hope to be able to send out letters pretty soon talking about what we’re doing. Thanks to all of you who have been following our journey, -The Parmenters
